Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative is launched: Prime Minister Modi expresses, ‘I appeal to each and every one of you.

The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign by the Government of India is set to commence today and extend until the 77th Independence Day on August 15th. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, this initiative aims to bolster patriotism among citizens and mark the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav through collective engagement and increased ‘janbhagidari’.

In a post shared on X (previously Twitter), Prime Minister Modi invited fellow countrymen to join the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga movement’. His words were, “The Tiranga embodies the essence of freedom and national unity. Every Indian shares an emotional bond with the Tricolour, which inspires us to strive harder for the progress of our nation. As a part of the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative, the Department of Posts has been entrusted with the responsibility of selling and distributing high-quality national flags to the public, as per a statement from the government quoted by PTI.

Govind Mohan, Union Culture Secretary, revealed that about 2.5 crore flags have been dispatched to post offices as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. Mohan emphasized that the nation is currently abuzz with excitement and the event will be celebrated on a grand scale across states and Union Territories, much like the previous year.

“We have ensured the availability of flags to all states and UTs. This year, approximately 2.5 crore flags have been supplied to post offices, a significant increase from last year’s one crore,” Culture Secretary Mohan stated, as reported by PTI.

“The Postal Department has requisitioned 2.5 crore flags for this year, and 55 lakh flags have already been dispatched through post offices. Additionally, the Ministry of Textiles has distributed 1.3 crore flags to various states,” Mohan added.

Speaking about the fervor surrounding the Har Ghar Tiranga program, Mohan commented, “Our feedback indicates a high level of enthusiasm across the nation… We have developed visuals based on our experiences from last year, which are now available on the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ website.
